If you’ve been missing the Monthly Menu Plan, all I can say is, we have, too! I’ve been pretty busy for the past few months, so I resorted to flying by the seat of my pants when it came to putting dinner on the table. Without the Monthly Menu Plan, however, we had trouble staying within our grocery budget…and our eating out budget as well.
Last month, however, I decided to pull out the monthly menu plan again, and guess what? I was able to purchase all the groceries ahead of time at the best prices (either on sale or with coupons). We ended up with money left over by the end of the month! I guess it just goes to show what I’ve really known all along…a menu plan is the frugal mom’s best friend.
Here’s what we’ll be eating this month:
Week One – This week’s menu plan features some of my favorite recipes. Some spice from New Orleans, a little fried chicken, a rich and creamy Italian dish, and a whole lot of flavor! (Note: I’ve planned the Jambalaya and Chicken Fajitas together, since they both call for bell peppers. I can buy the peppers once and use them twice.)
February 1 – Jambalaya
February 2 – Fried Chicken
February 3 – Fettuccini
February 4 – Chicken Fajitas
February 5 – Spaghetti & Meatballs
February 6 – Tatertot Casserole
February 7 – Chicken & Wild Rice Soup
Week Two – This week, I’m bringing in some more family favorites. I love the Kung Pao Chicken, the kids love Ham Soup with a little homemade bread, and the Roasted (rotisserie style) Chicken is one of the all-time best money savers, since I’ll be using the leftover chicken in more than one recipe this month. And of course, we’ll probably make individual, heart-shaped pizzas on Valentine’s Day. 🙂
February 8 – Kung Pao Chicken
February 9 – Lasagna Roll-Ups
February 10 – Ham Soup
February 11 – Chili and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
February 12 – Roasted Chicken
February 13 – Tacos
February 14 – Homemade Pizza
Week Three – I’m using the leftover roasted chicken in two dinners this week (Poppyseed Chicken and Chicken & Noodle Casserole). Sloppy Joes, Meatloaf, and Fried Fish, plus a Crock-Pot meal, round out the week.
February 15 – Poppyseed Chicken
February 16 – Sloppy Joes
February 17 – Fried Fish & Potatoes
February 18 – Creamy Beef & Noodles
February 19 – Cheesy Chicken & Rice Bake
February 20 – Meatloaf
February 21 – Chicken & Noodle Casserole
Week Four – We’ll be finishing the month with more family favorites: Fried Chicken, Tacos, Biscuits & Gravy, Chicken Pot Pie, and Potato Soup.
February 22 – Fried Chicken
February 23 – Tacos
February 24 – Sesame Chicken
February 25 – Biscuits and Gravy
February 26 – Chicken Pot Pie
February 27 – Potato Soup
February 28 – Easy Beef Stroganoff
